Counselling and Psychotherapy with Farah
A Little Bit About Me
I am deeply passionate about seeing people take steps towards a more fulfilling and authentic life.
My approach to therapy is existential, which means that I work from a place of knowing that life is naturally going to present struggles. Through deep, courageous and reflective work we travel together on a journey of healing.
I am a BACP registered Counsellor with experience working with a wide range of presenting issues.
I provide individual therapy that is confidential and is designed to support you through a deep reflective process. It is also a space where you can learn about mental health and ways of coping with distressing symptoms.
I facilitate group therapy to help in sharing and communicating your experience with others who may be experiencing similar feelings and have gone though similar life events.
What is therapy?
Therapy provides a confidential safe space to explore your life. Personal insights happen when we suspend the world outside and focus on what is going on inside, and therapy facilitates this process.
Through understanding ourselves better we can then manage life's givens with a little bit more ease and awareness.
Whether you want to alleviate depression or process a traumatic incident, it is important to understand that healing takes time but is most definitely possible.
Often it is more convenient to set up online therapy. I offer therapy through online applications such as Zoom and Skype.

"Farah has helped me to understand myself better. I've been through a traumatic experience and I suffer from terrible anxiety that i couldn't understand and she helped by listening and giving me ways to grasp and accept my situation on a daily basis. She is very patient with me, she listens to my problems even if i said them 100 times. Thank you Farah. I wish I started therapy earlier with you."
"Thank you so much for being with me for the past weeks helping me to emotionally grow and together discovering the core of my issue, the fear of being lonely that made me stay in unhealthy relations and behave in a not very nurturing way to myself .
It was only because of your natural empathy, sensibility and knowledge that I was able to get so much from our conversations, they always came very natural and I always felt very supported and understood, I can never thank you enough for all your support."
"This was a positive experience. It made me feel much less isolated and that there is hope in life. I am trying my best to overcome the difficulties I am facing, and I am sure one day I will be able to. Thank you so much for giving me the chance to see that. You are a wonderful therapist."
"My weekly therapy with Farah has been a great support, and a necessary safety source for me. I have been having schizophrenia for nearly a decade now, and when I met Farah as a therapist, I could, somehow, change from that miserable frozen situation to trying effectively, and constantly to live. I learnt how to exactly see myself without inflating or detracting my value, which helped me to come back to reality. I learnt that I needed discipline in my life, and I am working on it. Farah is the reason that I believe in my capability of taking responsibility for my own life."
